Hong Kong November re-exports up 3.6pc as domestic exports fall 10.4pc

HONG KONG's re-exports increased 3.6 per cent in November year on year while domestic exports declined 10.4 per cent, according to latest figures from the government's Census & Statistics Department. 

During November, total value of goods imports increased 4.8 per cent as exports rose 3.4 per cent year on year. The value of re-exports increased 2.7 per cent and while domestic export value declined 0.1 per cent. 



Comparing total goods on a seasonally adjusted basis for the three-month period ending in November, re-exports increased 6.2 per cent in value while domestic exports fell 4.5 per cent. 



Year to date, Hong Kong's goods re-exports' volume increased 3.5 per cent, whereas domestic exports dropped 9.6 per cent year on year. Taken together, total goods exports' volume increased 3.2 per cent. 



During the first 11 months of 2013, the value of goods re-exported increased 1.2 per cent, while those of domestic exports increased 2.3 per cent. Total goods exports' prices increased 1.2 per cent against goods imports' prices increase 0.8 per cent.
