CCNI introduce feeder to maximise Asia-Mexico-WCSA coverage
CHILEAN shipping line, CCNI, is to launch a feeder service in order to improve coverage on its Far East-Mexico-WCSA services by connecting Callao to Guayaquil, Ecuador.
The service, coined West Andes Network (WAN), will deploy a 1,121-TEU Dover Strait chartered for six months from German owner Carsten Rehder. The vessel is a Gdynia 8125 'Planet' type and allows for the draft limitations of the WCSA area.
The feeder service will allow Guayaquil cargo to connect with the joint Far East-Mexico-WCSA services which it shares with five other carriers, Hamburg S黡, Hanjin, CSCL and HMM. HMM is to take up slots on the new feeder service WAN, according to Paris-based ALphaliner.
The alliance deploy 11 vessels of 5,500-6,600 TEU on its Asia-WCSA 'Orient Container Service' through slots shares by NYK, MOL, K Line and Hapag-Lloyd with a fleet of 11 5,500 to 6,600 TEU vessels. Recently, CCNI has purchased slots on this service.
The Chilean carrier's Med-NCSA-WCSA Med Andes service, North Europe-WCSA service and USEC-WCSA service allows for further connections via transhipment in Callao.
