7Seas Shipping handles transformers' shipment South Korea to Iraq
7SEAS Shipping, the Jordanian and Iraqi member of the Worldwide Project Consortium WWPC network, recently operated a shipment of heavy cargo movements from Masan Port, South Korea to Basra, Iraq.
The cargo consisted of five huge transformers, each transformer weighing 233 tons in addition to bulk cargo of accessories to total 1,898.690 tons, at overall weight of 4,331.34 freight tons.
7Seas Shipping ensured that the shipment on the M/V Hyundai Antwerp arrived safely at the Port of Umm Qasser, Iraq and then onto its final destination of the new Shat Basra Gas power plant, 175 kilometres north of the port.
The transformers were offloaded by the use of hydraulic jacks onto steel stands. During the three-month process, five low loaders and 75 trailers were used during poor weather conditions with heavy rain.
