Xinjiang Korgas checkpoint opens 'green way' for westbound fruit and veg

EXPORTS through northwestern Xinjiang Korgas checkpoint has maintained rapid growth to reach 2.06 million tonnes in the first three quarters, soaring 412.4 per cent year on year, reports Xinhua.

The checkpoint management departments have launched "green passage" service in response to the peak season of fruit and vegetable exports as winter comes to enhance efficiency.

Korgas customs and inspection departments cooperated closely when it came into winter to provide customs clearance priority for the perishable goods such as fruits, vegetables and fresh flowers.

Besides, the customs and Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau have set up quick inspection mechanism for offering door-to-door transport vehicle loading and inspection service.

Korgas checkpoint is the largest overland road checkpoint in northwestern China. In recent years, the checkpoint has accelerated the exports of agricultural produce, regional high-tech and mechanical and electrical products by improving customs clearance, optimising goods structure and implementing preferential policies.
