Dongguan-Moscow railway's first train sets off with 29 containers
A train carrying 29 containers of light industry products recently departed from the Dongguan Shilong Railway Station and will arrive in Moscow in 15 days, marking the launch of a new railway cargo service from the Pearl River Delta to Russia and Central Asia, Xinhua reports.
This train runs from Guangdong province's manufacturing base Dongguan, adjacent to the Guangzhou, crosses country border at Xinjiang's Alashankou checkpoint 10 days later, and arrives at Russia another five days later.
Statistics from the Ministry of Commerce show that in 2012, the Sino-Russian trade value hit a record of US$88.16 billion, rising 11.2 per cent year on year. China has been Russia main trading partner for three years in a row.
