Sinotrans Shipping chairman quits, replaced by assistant general manager
HONG KONG based Sinotrans Shipping chairman Zhao Huxiang has suddenly resigned to be replaced by Li Zhen, the assistant general manager, in the latest managing shake-up in Chinese shipping sector.
This follows similar moves at China Cosco Holdings, where Xu Minjie resigned this month as executive director, and at China Shipping Group, where Li Shaode stepped down as chairman.
Sinotrans attributed Mr Zhao's departure to other work allocations from the parent company, Sinotrans Group. and said he would retain the chairmanship of Sinotrans and CSC Shipping, the Beijing-based subsidiary that resulted from the 2009 merger of Sinotrans and China Changjiang National Shipping (Group).
Sinotrans Shipping is the group's main shipping subsidiary, with operations in container shipping, shipping management, dry bulk shipping, tankers and roll-on, roll-off.
