HK docker dead, one hurt when crane knocks over 3 boxes crushing van
A DOCKER was killed when he was crushed and another man was severely injured by three falling containers at Hongkong International Terminal at Kwai Chung earlier this week, reports Apple Daily.
The dead man was sitting in the back of a light goods van when three of the six stacked containers fell onto the vehicle after being accidentally hit by a mobile yard crane.
One man was pronounced dead on the scene and the driver suffered head injuries and was rushed to hospital, said the report.
The location of the accident is the Q31 area between No 4 and No 6 container terminal, the maximum number of containers to be stacked is six.
The yard crane that caused the accident mistakenly moved towards the container six, the circumstances of which are now under investigations, the report said.
