LB posts 8.7pc October volume rise to 576,502 TEU, up 13pc in 10 months
CONTAINER volume in October increased 8.7 per cent year on year through the Port of Long Beach as the annual peak season drew to a close with a monthly tally of 576,502 TEU.
Imports were up 7.8 per cent to 298,271 TEU while exports increase six per cent to 141,457 TEU with empties increasing 13.9 per cent to 136,774 TEU.
For the first 10 months of 2013, box volume increased 13.2 per cent with imports rising 15.2 per cent more imports and 10.9 per cent more exports with empties rising 11,1 per cent.
