Alataw Pass rail 9-month grain imports decline 85pc to 28,000 tonnes
NORTHWEST China's Alataw Pass rail checkpoint bordering Kazakhstan posted a year-on-year 85 per cent decline in grain imports to 28,000 tonnes in the first three quarters, according to Xinjiang Bortala Mongolia Autonomous prefecture government, reports Xinhua.
The decline was mainly attributed to the rising grain prices in the international markets and China's demand of grain imports shrinking due to an increase in domestic production
