Fujian 10-month port box volume increases 10.2pc to 9.57 million TEU
FROM January to October this year, port in southeastern China's Fujian province lifted 9.57 million TEU, which is 10.2 per cent more than the volume in the same period in the previous year.
According to the latest figures from Fujian Provincial Transport Department, quoted by Xinhua, the container throughput of Xiamen, the largest port of Fujian, increased 13.1 per cent to 6.56 million TEU. Fuzhou, the second largest port, handled 1.61 million TEU, up 8.7 per cent.
In the same period, Fujian ports' collective throughput tonnage grew 10.2 per cent to 374 million tonnes. Xiamen's throughput tonnage climbed 11.5 per cent to 157 million tonnes. Fuzhou's tonnage went up 12.6 per cent to 105 million tonnes.
