Xinjiang Baketu checkpoint 9-month volume soars 155pc to 78,700 tonnes
THE northwestern Xinjiang Baketu checkpoint on the Kazakhstan border posted a year-on-year 155 per cent increase in import and export cargo to 78,700 tonnes in the first nine months, according to Xinhua.
Exports soared 169 per cent while imports declined 23.81 per cent in the period. Overall trade value surged 140.4 per cent to US$725.23 million.
Passengers through the checkpoint grew 89.46 per cent to 61,507 and vehicles went sharply 114.39 per cent up to 7,911.
