China: ZPMC Delivers Pipelay Vessel to CNPC
Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (ZPMC) delivered, on October 30th, pipelay vessel ‘CPP 601′ to China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau CNPC. The yard constructed the 1600-ton fully revolving crane and stinger petroleum pipeline of the vessel.
“CPP 601” pipelay vessel is a special engineering ship of CPPB made for developing its marine lifting pipelaying business. It is also the largest pipelay vessel in CNPC with the function of lifting, pipe laying and daily life support at sea. Besides, its maximum lifting capacity is 1200 ton when fully revolving, and its lifting capacity is 1600 ton when lifting at sea.
Due to the crane’s huge body and considerable weight, during the manufacturing process ZPMC installed the crane in sections and created good conditions for integral installation.
CPPB is top-ranking pipeline engineering general contractor at home and abroad. The successful delivery of the vessel laid solid foundations for wider and longer cooperation of CPPB and ZPMC.
“CPP 601” will go to Africa on its maiden voyage and undertake the construction of undersea gas pipeline project in Tanzania.
