Taiwan-based Kuang Ming Shipping plans to build more ships to improve its operating costs, Tsai Ming-Hsu, chairman of Kuang Ming Shipping said.
Due to the continued growing demand of iron ore in the mainland and other emerging markets, the dry bulk capacity demands will increase, Tsai reckons. Kuang Ming Shipping plans to build ecoships to improve the fleet, which are planned to start delivery in 2015, Tsai said. A series of supramaxes will be ordered.
The company currently operates a total fleet of 19 bulk ships.
