Making the most of the low newbuild prices on offer Thailand’s Precious Shipping has ordered a cement carrier at China’s Shanhaiguan New Shipbuilding Industry. The 20,000 dwt ship will be registered in Singapore and will deliver in late November next year. The $24.48m ship has already been assigned to a long term charter.
Speaking to SeaShip News this morning Precious’s managing director Khalid Hashim said his firm would now hold off from new orders as prices were beginning to shoot up.
