Germany’s Wintershall has contracted a jack-up rig from Northern Offshore to carry out work in the Dutch sector of the North Sea.
Northern revealed on Thursday that Wintershall had contracted the jack-up Energy Endeavour on an initial operating day rate of $160,000 per day.
It added the contract was set to start on or around 1 October, with completion expected around 1 May next year, however Northern noted the contract also provided for extension options.
The Energy Endeavour is capable of operating in a water depth of up to 300 feet and drilling to a depth of 25,000 feet.
