South Korean refiner GS Caltex has settled premiums for 380 CST bunker fuel for August delivery with traders at $17.50-18/mt to the Mean of Platts Singapore 380 CST high sulfur fuel oil assessments, almost unchanged from $18/mt for July delivery, industry sources said Thursday.
Sources said the bunker fuel premiums are reflective of FOB South Korea premiums for HSFO cargo exports.
Spot premiums of HSFO cargoes for August loading were around $2-3/mt to MOPS 380 CST HSFO assessments, unchanged from July-loading cargoes, trade sources added.around $14/mt to MOPS 380 CST HSFO assessments, also unchanged from July, Platts reported previously.
GS Caltex owns and operates a 775,000 b/d refinery in Yeosu in the south, selling about 200,000-250,000 mt/month of bunker fuel.
South Korea sells about 700,000-800,000 mt of bunker fuel each month.
