CEPSA is recognised for its technological excellence at the 19th edition of the Dirigentes Awards

The Editorial Committee of Spanish magazine Dirigentes has chosen CEPSA to receive its "Excellence Award 2013" in the Technology category for projects such as EOR and DETAL, amongst others
This award recognises 40 years spent by the Company investing in technology and innovation
CEPSA has received the “Excellence Award 2013” in the Technology category granted every year by the Dirigentes Group. The Editorial Committee of Dirigentes magazine has chosen CEPSA in the 19th edition of the awards in recognition of the efforts that Technology Management has made for almost 40 years to improve the quality of its products and production processes.
For CEPSA, innovation and technology are two tools that create value and foster competiveness and sustainable growth. Some of the projects carried out by CEPSA's technology management have optimised and improved aspects that are essential to the development of the business, giving the Company an advantageous position within the sector. An example of this are the company's in-house EOR and DETAL technologies (technology that makes us world leaders in the production of LAB/LAS, raw material for biodegradable detergents) and the development of new “bio” fuels. Using the new Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) technique makes it possible to extract 20% more hydrocarbons from oil wells. The technique is already being used on CEPSA fields in Algeria y Colombia.
That is why, this year Dirigentes magazine chose CEPSA as a company with excellent technology in a ceremony presided over by Subsecretary of the Ministry of Development Mario Garcés and Director of Social Policy of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government Arturo Fernández Álvarez.
The gala event, celebrated last night at the Ritz Hotel in Madrid, was attended by Miguel Ángel Calderón, Director of Technology at CEPSA, who accepted the prize: “In a competitive sector like the energy industry, only companies that invest in technology are able to survive. Now more than ever. It is not just a case of surviving, but of growing and being more ambitious. This award is for all our employees who have made CEPSA the great Group that it is today. We are grateful to the Dirigentes Group for this recognition. We are proud to have received this accolade along with other illustrious companies".
