Three foreign companies have expressed interest to establish a national shipping line through a joint venture with the government.
Deputy Transport Minister Abdul Latheef said Tuesday that the companies that had expressed interest in the project were from Sri Lanka, Singapore and Europe.
However, he did not name any of the companies.
“We will review the proposals and invite them to submit bids. Currently we’re just reviewing their proposals,” Latheef said.
