The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reports that a Vietnamese cargo ship ran aground at a beachhead in Legazpi City in Albay, as the city was hit by Tropical Storm Gorio on Saturday.
MV Minh Tuan 68, which was anchored about 100 m from Legazpi City port, was pushed by strong waves toward a nearby coastal village.
Operated and owned by Ming Truong Shipping Lines, the vessel is said to be carrying around 94,000 bags of suspected smuggled rice from Vietnam.
