INTTRA, the world’s largest multi-carrier e-commerce network for ocean shipping and Vanguard Logistics Services, the largest neutral global sea-freight consolidator in the world, announced today an expanded agreement in which Vanguard has joined INTTRA’s NVOCC network. The addition of Vanguard increases the size of the INTTRA carrier and NVOCC network to 48.
Under the agreement, Vanguard and its global network of Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) brands will leverage the INTTRA platform to deliver a comprehensive e-commerce shipping solution to its customers. Vanguard customers and agents around the world will immediately be able to automate and streamline ocean freight shipment processing and improve access to shipment information through the INTTRA network.
Shifting from manual transactions to electronic commerce benefits all parties to the shipping transaction: from ocean carriers to shippers. Benefits include reduced manual effort, higher data quality and simplified shipment management. Ultimately, faster and higher quality shipping processes remove excess costs and improve service levels to shippers.
“In a market where positive margin growth can remain elusive, we are pleased to be part of Vanguard’s plan for continuous investment in strategic markets and technologies to improve their service delivery,” said Ronald DeBlis, INTTRA’s Senior Vice President, Global Sales. “We believe that by leveraging the strengths of both of our organizations, we can make an immediate improvement to the efficiency and accuracy of shipments for thousands of shippers touched by the combination of both our networks.”
“As Vanguard continues to execute a thoughtful and aggressive global expansion plan, we determined that INTTRA provided one of the most comprehensive platforms and global presence to help us to provide better e-commerce services to our network of agencies and clients,” said Charlie Brennan, Executive Chairman at Vanguard. “With business operations spanning points of presence in over 100 countries, we needed a business partner that could immediately support our comprehensive services network. In this regard, INTTRA was the clear choice.”
