Dutch haulier Bijvoet Transporten has won the 2012 health & safety quality award for P&O Ferrymasters sub-contractors involved in transport operations from Tata Steel’s main European plant at IJmuiden in the Netherlands.
The award is a joint initiative by Tata Steel and lead contractor P&O Ferrymasters and is contested by the top 20 haulage partners working from the site - those making more than 300 collections a year for destinations throughout Europe.
The scheme ensures pro-active and constant maintenance of health & safety excellence by measuring various performance standards. Feedback assists hauliers and triggers close monitoring of any areas that score below average.
Bijvoet Transporten Managing Director Peter Neefjes was presented with the 2012 award by Onno van den Toorn, Sector Manager Logistic Services for Tata Steel in Europe, during the annual carriers meeting at Hoogovens Museum in IJmuiden. The winner receives a trophy and a contribution for the company’s staff association.
