Agility expands in Malaysian renewable energy with bonded warehouse
LOGISTICS provider Agility says it has opened a state-of-the-art logistics centre in Melaka on the Malay Peninsula to strengthen its presence in the growing alternative renewable energy sector.
The new bonded warehouse will also support a variety of industry sectors, including automotive, in Melaka.
The new warehouse has a capacity of 47,500 square feet, with racking capacity of 5,000 pallet positions, an open yard of 73,000 square feet, with an average weight capacity of eight tons per wheel load.
The Melaka centre will receive both bonded and non-bonded materials for handling and storage, offer value-added services, customs clearance, freight forwarding, inter-trucking and distribution, a company statement said.
"Agility has been at the forefront in developing logistics services for the renewable energy sector in Malaysia. The facility adds to our already strong presence in Malaysia and solidifies our position as one of the leading providers of logistics in the country," said Agility's south east Asia and Malaysia chief Morten Damgaard.
The facility was granted the approval to operate as a licensed, private-bonded warehouse from the Melaka State Director of Customs.
