Seaport operations resume at Kuwaiti marine terminals after fog lifts
KUWAIT's seaports have re-opened after heavy fog suspended operations, yet other crude oil export ports in Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia continued operations throughout.
"They are all open," a Kuwaiti official in the general manager's office said after the entry and exit of ships into Kuwaiti ports was partially suspended for safety reasons, reports Reuters.
The blanket of fog extended south to Dubai, shipping sources said.
Kuwait ships all of its two million bpd from ports in the Gulf, while the United Arab Emirates ships most of its 2.4 million barrels per day exports from terminals in Abu Dhabi for OPEC heavyweight Saudi Arabia, it exports the majority of its crude (well over seven million barrels per cent in 2012) from ports in the Gulf.
