Shandong traffic fixed asset investment reaches CNY56 billion in 2012
NORTHERN Shandong provincial investment in traffic fixed assets reached CNY56 billion (US$9.01 billion) in 2012, an increase of 9.5 per cent year on year, reports Xinhua.
Provincial highway building totalled to 244,500 kilometre, and the highway density was 156 kilometres per 100 square kilometres at the end of 2012. Along with the completion of the expressway of Binzhou-Dezhou, the expressway building reached 4,975 kilometres.
Eight projects including 300,000-tonne ore terminal have been completed and put into operation in Qingdao Dongjiakou port area last year, bringing about an extra capacity of 40 million tonnes to the port. The port total capacity reached 530 million tonnes.
In the same period, Shandong finished construction of 25 station projects like the Tengzhou high-speed railway passenger hub and Zibo Bonded Logistics Centre. The total number of passenger stations reached 1,367 and freight stations were 511.
