Moscow's Domodedovo Airport 2012 air cargo rises 4.3pc in 2012
MOSCOW Domodedovo Airport in 2012 moved 4.3 per cent more cargo year on year to 196,984 tons, making it the biggest airport in Russia and one of three with Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo airports serving the Russian capital.
Cargo traffic in December was up 6.5 per cent year on year to 19,719 tons.
But Domodedovo achieved record passenger numbers with traffic rising 9.6 per cent year on year to 28.2 million people. The number of flights at the airport in 2012 increased 4.2 per cent year on year to 253,500 take-offs and landings.
Domestic passenger traffic in 2012 amounted to 11.6 million people, which is 13.6 per cent more than last year led by routes to St Petersburg, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk and Samara.
