HONG KONG's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has held a christening ceremony for its latest 8,888-TEU vessel at the Changxing Island shipyard in Shanghai.
The OOCL Miami was christened by Samuel Tsien, group chief executive officer of OCBC Bank in the presence of Wang Yong, president of Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co and Andy Tung, chief executive officer of OOCL.
"This magnificent vessel, the OOCL Miami, is another shining example of Hudong-Zhonghua's skills and craftsmanship in building top quality ships," said Mr Tung.
"The shipyard has made a name for itself in the international shipbuilding community by taking great leaps in developing home-grown technologies that make Chinese industries proud," he said.
