SDV acquires majority stake in Swiss logistics firm Safcomar
PARIS based SDV Logistiques has announced that it now hold the majority in Safcomar Overseas SA and has rebranded it SDV Suisse.
The move adds a new country to its European network that will employ 20 people at its Geneva and Zurich branches.
"Switzerland is regarded as a strategic market by SDV, especially for the deployment of our key accounts policy in Europe" said Henri Le Gouis, SDV chief executive for western Europe.
"Safcomar has expanded in a number of fast-growing sectors such as pharmaceuticals, bio plasma, perfumes, fragrances and luxury goods" said Hugo Roppel, the newly appointed CEO of SDV Suisse. "Through this operation SDV will also benefit from Safcomar's experience gained in high value-added supply chain solutions."
Safcomar's integration will be eased by a long-standing partnership with the SDV international network. Furthermore, the new company's growth will be fully consistent with the group's strategy in industry sectors, a statement said.
