BA, Iberia's fledgling IAC Cargo to start London-Chengdu service
IAG Cargo, the company formed through the merger between British Airways World Cargo and Iberia Cargo, is commencing thrice weekly cargo service between London Heathrow and Chengdu in southwest China in the autumn.
The Boeing 777 service, scheduled to start on September 22, 2013, will provide wide-body capacity to support Chengdu's manufacturing sector, which is experiencing rapid growth, reports UK's Transport Intelligence.
John Cheetham, regional commercial manager for Asia Pacific says: "Over the last few years we have seen a migration in manufacturing from the Yangtze River Delta to the Sichuan province in China, centred on its capital city, Chengdu.
