Maersk Line takes long-term charter of two postpanamax 8,000-TEUers
CAPITAL Product Partners LP is to acquire two 8,000-TEU containerships in a long term charter with Maersk Line at US$34,000 daily rate with redelivery earliest in August 2015 and November 2015.
The Danish carrier has an option to extend the charter of both vessels for an additional four years at a gross rate of $31,500 and $30,500 per day respectively for fourth and fifth year and $32,000 for final two years, according to a company statement.
The 7,943 TEUers were built by South Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding and if the deal with Maersk runs to extension date will end July 2019 for the Agamennon and December 2019 for Archimidis.
