Three expressways in Hebei province open to traffic, convenient travel
THREE major highways, the Chengde-Qinhuangdao Expressway, Zhangjiakou section of the Zhangjiakou-Zhuzhou Expressway and the Baiyangdian section of the Daqing-Guangzhou Expressway in northern Hebei province are now open to traffic, providing convenient routes to Beijing and Tianjin from the provincial hinterland, reports Xinhua.
The Chengde-Qinhuangdao Expressway is one of the major projects Hebei plans to launch and the key component of the expressway network. It covers a distance of 99.2 kilometres. The travel time from Chengde to Qinhuangdao will be shortened from four hours to two hours once it opens.
The Zhangjiakou section of the Zhangjiakou-Zhuzhou Expressway is major project in Hebei, which starts in Zhulu County and runs for 83.3 kilometres. After completion, the travel time from Beijing to Zhulu will be shortened to two and a half hours from three and a half hours.
The Baiyangdian access road of the Daqing-Guangzhou Expressway in Xiong County provides convenient access to the 5A-class tourism region of Baiyangdian. It is 14.6 kilometres long and the travel time can be shortened 30 minutes for travellers from Beijing and Tianjin to Baiyangdian.
