ADB Airfield Solutions joins FB Technology to upgrade airfield safety

FB TECHNOLOGY, a specialist in photometric measurement systems for airfield lighting, is collaborating with ADB Airfield Solutions, to expand its footprint and help airports install safe ground lighting.

Under this partnership, ADB will expand its portfolio to offer its solutions globally, and help airports ensure airfield ground lighting is fully compliant with regulatory requirements and performs optimally to aid safe take-offs and landings, a joint statement said.

"With airports becoming busier every day, airfield lighting maintenance teams have less time to maintain their installations and must work differently than before. FB Technology strives to provide the most efficient and easy-to-use measuring tools to help these teams," said FB Technology managing director Lionel Le Cam.

ADB will offer FB Technology's Photometric Airfield Calibration (PAC), PAC Lab System and PAC p System. While PAC monitors light output quickly and accurately on the airfield in real-time, the PAC Lab System checks if refurbished light fixtures are compliant in a workshop environment. The PAC p system checks if the Precision Approach Path Indicator System is correctly aligned and measures output of the PAPI lights, which help pilots ascertain and maintain the correct approach to the runway.

"Aviation bodies have clear guidelines regarding airfield light output as diminished light output poses a major safety risk. By offering FB Technology's solutions, ADB Airfield Solutions can now help airports meet their airfield lighting compliance needs in a flexible manner," said ADB chief executive Christian Onselaere.

FB Technology solutions are fully compliant with FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) regulations. They are approved by world renowned Civil Aviation Technical Services and have been proven at the most busy airports worldwide.
