Strike drags November LA boxes down 16pc, but up 2.7pc over 11 months
A DOCK strike dragged down November container volume 16 per cent year on year to 582,981 TEU, but not enough to dampen year-to-date throughput which increased 2.7 per cent to 7.49 million TEU.
November imports and exports were down with inbound cargo off 18.6 per cent year on year to 288,273 TEU while exports fell 25.8 per cent to 145,344 TEU. The combined total laden imports and exports fell 21.1 per cent in November to 433,617 TEU, but empties were up 3.78 per cent.
