AllCargo Logistics transports heavylift transformers to Indian plant
ALLCARGO Logistics, a member of the Cargo Equipment Experts CEE network in India, has secured a contract from Hyundai Heavy Industries in Korea to transport seven heavy lift transformers and accessories from India's port of Mumbai to the Bina substation in Madhya Pradesh state.
The transformers are for the 765 KVA Bina Power station in Madhya Pradesh, a company statement said.
Allcargo Logistics has been assigned to handle customs clearance, port handling and the inland transportation of the transformers and their accessories. The transformers, each weighing 177 tons, were loaded onto 12 hydraulic axles with a convoy length of 28.5 metres. The total freight ton weight, including the accessories, was 3,872 FRT.
In view of the complexities involved the company beforehand conducted a complete route survey, completed a complete risk analysis statement and ensured all risks were mitigated to the minimum level.
The transformers were shipped by the supplier in two lots and the first lot was successfully delivered within 30 days of discharge at port. The second consignment is on its way and scheduled for delivery within 25 days of discharge.
