Unifeeder to acquire Feederlink with UK approval
THE UK Office of Fair Trade has given the green light to the Unifeeder's proposed acquisition of Feederlink.
The acquisition plan was first announced on August 30, and is expected to be wrapped up this month.
The purchase of Feederlink is expected to enable Unifeeder to bolster its position in the Benelux-UK East Coast trades.
Unifeeder plans within the next few weeks to move Feederlink's existing teams in Rotterdam and Felixstowe into its offices to create a joint team focussing specifically on services in the UK.
Vessel operation and scheduling will be combined to form one joint network to offer wider coverage that will be monitored closely by the new UK-Rotterdam Team, reports Alphaliner.
