OOCL takes eighth in Wujiazhui 1100 series for HK-Haiphong feeder

HONG Kong-headquartered Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) will charter the 1,084-TEU Sonderborg Strait for its Hong Kong-Haiphong feeder service (HPH) to replace a 1,036-TEU Heinrich Schepers.

The Wujiazhui Shipyard, Nanjing-built vessel is eighth in the Wujiazhui 1100 series and second acquisition for German owner Carsten Rehder following an August 2011 delivery following an order in January 2008, cited a report from Paris-based Alphaliner.

Six further units are to be delivered to Ernst Komrowsk of which two are to Dutch owner Vroon BV and four to Blue Star Holding.
