Carmen Taylor, AA Cargo sales chief named business woman of the year
AMERICAN Airlines Cargo's managing director cargo sales for Latin America, Carmen Taylor, has received the International Business Woman of the Year Award by the Organisation of Women in International Trade.
The annual award was presented at a ceremony organised by the South Florida chapter of the organisation. The award recognises outstanding women for their significant contribution to enhancing international trade and business through professional and community activities, a company statement said.
It's the second award Ms Taylor has received in the last year. In 2011 she won the International Women's Day Award for leadership for promoting and enhancing free trade and international business.
Kenji Hashimoto, American Airlines Cargo president, said: "Our Cargo division is only as strong as its people, and Carmen consistently adds incredible value to the team. Always intensely focused on the customer, Carmen has an impressive reputation in the community and truly deserves this recognition."
She joined the cargo division of American Airlines in 2004 as a regional sales manager responsible for the southeast of United States before assuming her present position in 2005. In this role, she oversees the airline's sales team in South America, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and the southeast of the US, covering 54 cities in 33 countries.
