Fujian to turn 'dry port' of Sanming into logistics distribution centre
EASTERN China's Fujian's Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has introduced a series of supporting measures for Sanming dry port to help it develop into a distribution centre for its northwestern hinterland, reports Xinhua.
The Fujian provincial Inspection and Quarantine Bureau will accelerate construction of the port's facility and electronic platform to implement "once declaration, once inspection, and once clearance" policy for imports and exports to enhance efficiency.
Imported goods to Sanming dry port are given customs clearance green light and the regulatory requirements are loosened for the port enterprise general risk export products. The bureau also supports the port to develop market procurement business, to establish laboratory and to set up inspection and quarantine office within the port.
The Sanming dry port located at Sha County in central Fujian province has convenient access to railway, and supplemented by road and air services. The export goods have reached 650 TEU, with the value of US$13.17 million since it has started operation on May 28.
