Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway fixes freight rates for pre-January trials
THE Price Control Administration of Guangdong province has published an interim freight rate scheme for the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway, which is about to start trial operations before the end of the year, Xinhua reports.
There are five different rates for five different types of cargo. For full-railcar-load freight, the price is CNY0.25 (US$0.04) per tonne per kilometre. For container cargo, the price is CNY4.80 per TEU per kilometre and CNY9.60 per FEU per kilometre, and 40 per cent of the rates are charged for self-provided empty containers.
For trailer cargo, whether using self-provided chassis or rented equipment from the railway operator, the price is CNY0.20 per tonne per kilometre for laden trailer and CNY0.24 per axle per kilometre for empty trailers. For military goods and rescue materials, the price will be 50 per cent off. Fertiliser will be charged according to the regulations of various levels of government.
The Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway's minimum charge covers 20 kilometres. Rates can be float up or down, based on the scheme.
