Fujian 10-month container volume increases 9.9pc to 8.68 million TEU
FUJIAN provincial seaports lifted 8.68 million TEU from January to October, 9.9 per cent more than they did in the same period last year, Xinhua reports.
Xiamen, the province's largest port, handled 5.81 million TEU, up 11.2 per cent. Fuzhou, the second largest, handled 1.49 million TEU, up 9.6 per cent.
In the same period, throughput of provincial ports increased 10.1 per cent year on year to 339 million tonnes with Xiamen's tonnage growing 8.7 per cent to 141 million tonnes and Fuzhou rising 12 per cent to 92.86 million tonnes.
Provincial waterway cargo movement in this period increased 9.3 per cent to 170 million tonnes. Volume rose 12.2 per cent to 238.15 billion tonnes per kilometre. Truck traffic increased 12.7 per cent to 477 million tonnes. Turnover jumped 17 per cent up to 60.79 billion tonnes per kilometre.
