Henan province builds dry port as base for national logistics hub
CENTRAL China's Henan province plans to build major national transport hub involving rail and air cargo facilities, and will start with the establishment of an inland dry port, reports Xinhua.
The Henan provincial government will rely on Eurasia landbridge to accelerate rail and highway construction and strengthen cooperation at international checkpoints at Tianjin, Qingdao, Lianyungang, Alataw pass and Khorgas to achieve inland port direct customs clearance.
After Zhengzhou-Wuhan high speed railway was launched on September 28, Henan's capital Zhengzhou became the rail passenger hub for Central China. Along with the launch of Zhengzhou-Xian and Zhengzhou-Wuhan high-speed railway, Henan has formed a circle centring on Zhengzhou, which is one-hour from north to south and half hour from east to west.
Henan has planned eight intercity railways in its cities centring on east station Zhengzhou. Now the routes Zhengzhou-Kaifeng, Zhengzhou-Jiaozuo and Zhengzhou-airport are under construction.
Henan's expressway traffic mileage ranks with the first in China and Henan aims to build an expressway network which is only 20 minutes' travel time away from all its counties, and expand the expressway network to 8,070 kilometres within the year.
