China's first air cargo information e-platform launched in Beijing
THE first electronic information sharing platform for China's air logistics industry has commenced operation in Beijing, Xinhua reports.
The easy-to-use platform is jointly developed by China Customs Data Centre and Beijing Customs Data Sub-centre. Corporate users need only a smart phone to confirm the service they want, check the shipping documents and apply for customs clearance and inspection.
The platform is composed of three parts: an internet-based logistics service trading platform, an air logistics data exchange platform and an application management cloud-based platform.
The logistics service trading platform is where supplier meet buyers. It lists the service providers and their services that buyers can secure through one-stop shopping on the platform. The data exchange platform enables data sharing of the air logistics service providers. The cloud-based application management platform allows companies that lack of information technology support to use the system via smart phone applications.
Beijing Customs Director Song Jingyan said the platform is a result of Beijing's effort in informatising air logistics commerce, and that it will help to lower shippers' logistics cost and enhance their competitive advantages.
