Lithuania's Klaipeda port October box volume up 27.2pc to 35,504 TEU
LITHUANIA's Port of Klaipeda posted a 27.2 per cent year-on-year container volume increase to 35,504 TEU in October, reports Riga's Baltic Course.
In terms of tonnage, containerised cargo volume increased 19.2 per cent to 385,900 tonnes, said the report.
Overall cargo throughput in October at Klaipeda Port hit 4.14 million tonnes up 0.9 per cent, including 905,200 tons of crude oil exports, up 12.4 per cent via the Butinges terminal year on year.
The amount of collected port dues in October reached LVL13.3 million (US$23.9 million) - an all-time record.
October losers included fertilisers, down 28 per cent to 746,900 tonnes, oil products, down 15.4 per cent to 668,000 tonnes and ro-ro cargo, down 5.5 per cent to 428,700 tonnes. October passenger throughout in October declined 6.6 per cent to 22,898 year on year, but the number of vessel calls increased 3.7 per cent to 810.
