FedEx extends call-in cut off time for Taiwan-to America shipments
FEDEX Express has announced it is extending the call-in cut off times by up to two hours for outbound shipments from Taiwan destined to the US, in order to support the needs of its customers, from major electronics firms to small and medium-size businesses.
"The deployment of this non-stop 777F service allows us to provide our customers with a cut off time extension as late as 1900 hrs in major cities and industrial zones throughout Taiwan, giving customers' additional time and flexibility when preparing their outbound shipments to the US," said David Cunningham, president, Asia Pacific, FedEx Express.
Effective from October 29, the new 777 Freighter service will have five weekly direct flights from Taipei to the company's global hub in Memphis. The deployment of the new 777F meets the growing demand for capacity between Taiwan and the US, a company statement said.
The US has remained one of Taiwan's top three business partners for the past five years, according to the Taiwan's Ministry of Finance. Last year, trade between the US and Taiwan reached US$67 billion, with Taiwan's year-on-year exports to the US growing by 15.6 per cent.
