China rising: October industrial output up 9.6pc, retail up 14.5pc
CHINA's industrial and consumer data showed the country's economy expanded in October, signalling an economic revival after almost two years of sluggish growth, says the Wall Street Journal.
Industrial production increased 9.6 per cent year on year in October, outpacing 9.2 per cent annual growth in September. Retail sales increased 14.5 per cent in October year on year against a 14.2 per cent rise in September.
The property market is also gathering momentum. Sales of residential and commercial housing totalled US$742.2 billion this year from January through October, up 5.6 per cent year on year, according to China's National Bureau of Statistics.
