Macau Government assists 4 airlines to offer deals to Guangdong shippers
AIR MACAU, TransAsia Airways, Eva Air and Menzies Macau Airport Services Limited have reached an agreement on offering concessions to shippers in Macau and Guangdong during a half-year period.
The scheme aims to help to strengthen cooperation of shippers in Guangdong and Macau. The carriers are still working on the details of the scheme, according to Xinhua's report.
The carriers made the decision on a recently held Guangdong-Macau logistics cooperation forum in Guangdong city Jiangmen. The forum is jointly organised by Macau SAR Government's logistics development council and Economic and Information Commission of Guangdong.
More than 100 people from the government and industry took part in this forum and discussed on building logistics information sharing platform, cost control and personnel training.
An official from Jiangmen Economic and Technology Information Bureau said, there are more than 540 Macau-invested companies in Jiangmen, the concessions in air transportation will boost business of logistics between Macau and Jiangmen and other cities in Guangdong. Jiangmen and Macau have a bilateral trade value of US$55 million per year.
