XIAMEN Port Holdings announced that it will scrap its cargo terminal at the Dongdu port area as the land will be bought by Xiamen government for use as a cruise ship terminal, Xinhua reports.
Xiamen Port Holdings will be paid CNY961 million (US$153.96 million) for the land. The port also plans to build two new berths, No 20 and No 21, at the Haicang port area for CNY1.4 billion to handle Dongdu's bulk business, and rent No 3 berth at the Songyu port to handle domestic containers.
