Shanghai and Ningbo experience September container volume recovery

BOX volume through Shanghai and Ningbo recovered in September with Shanghai rising 11.6 per cent year on year to 2.9 million TEU while Ningbo jumped 20 per cent to 1.6 million TEU, reports Xinhua.

In the case of Shanghai, this is a 5.6 per cent volume increase compared with August. Overall, Shanghai's September all cargo volume increased 10 per cent to 44.4 million tonnes year on year, and was up 12 per cent on August.

In the case of Ningbo, overall September cargo was up 23.5 per cent to 40.8 million tonnes of cargo year on year, said the report.
