Reclamation of Singapore's Pasir Panjang terminal wharves continues

RECLAMATION work at Singapore's Pasir Panjang terminal and wharves has been extended from October 13 to 24.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.148 of 2012 dated October 12, the works are being conducted 24-hours daily, including Sundays and public holidays, within the working area, reports GAC's Hot Port News.

Works include reclamation, dredging, soil investigation, caisson construction, demolition of the decommissioned Pasir Panjang wharves and removal of submarine cables and pipelines.

Dredging works will be carried out by dredgers attended to by tug boats, and safety boats will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn other craft of the works in progress. While the works are being carried out, temporary markers/buoys will also be in place for the duration.
