Bunkering conference comes to Singapore to discuss sustainable fuels
THE 17th Singapore International Bunkering Conference and Exhibition (SIBCON) to be held from October 16 to 19 will explore sustainable solutions for marine fuels.
The biennial event organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) will attract bunkering and shipping professionals to the world's largest bunker market to conduct business and listen to expert opinions.
Aaron Cobb, global director for ExxonMobil Marine Fuels, Kwa Chong Seng, chairman of NOL Group, and Adam Ritchie, general manager (oil market analysis) for Shell Trading will be delivering keynote and industry addresses on market drivers and how the industry should respond to these challenges.
Other areas for discussion will include pressing issues affecting the marine fuels industry, market projections, the use of liquefied natural gas bunker fuel, and compliance with international regulations. The event will also offer numerous networking opportunities for participants, who comprise suppliers, traders, brokers, shipowners, ship managers, surveyors, port and terminal operators.
On October 19, SIBCON delegates will be able to experience the full-deployment Joint Oil Spill Exercise (JOSE). Unique to SIBCON, JOSE allows participants to view the multi-agency response involved in tackling an oil spill in the Port of Singapore.
