BIFA reports positive result after talks with HM Customs on storage rules
THE British International Freight Association (BIFA) says it had a positive meeting with the British customs to discuss proposals covering the movement of goods to Enhanced Remote Transit Sheds (ERTS).
The trade association for UK freight forwarders says that various technical issues related to this review were discussed.
Both parties are now seeking short and long-term solutions that would create a platform to be utilised when the Union Customs Code is implemented later this decade.
At the meeting, Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) agreed that BIFA should continue to investigate ideas discussed at the meeting and report back with suggestions at the earliest opportunity.
